it's a girl!

today i found out my sister is having a baby girl!

the first little granddaughter for my mom & my godchild

today is going to be a good day! 

i have to start making her dolls & buy her beautiful clothes.

oh, i am so excited to meet the precious little baby girl on

september 10, 2011.

getting there.

 just keep on reminding myself that it will come and everything will be done with. 

well at least for a few weeks.

I am taking a break from lesson planning to confess my obsession with artist, Keri Smith. She is simply amazing. I was first introduced to her book, How To Be An Explorer Of The World, two years ago and I believe it is with her wonderful books that I have made it through the Art Ed program. Her books are filled with page after page of inspiration for the art room. 

So thank you thank you Keri!

i miss...

having the time to read a book.

i have been in love with book covers since i was little.

i remember going to the library and checking out books simply because the cover was gorgeous.

i would bring the book home and try to replicate the cover in my sketch book.

over and over again until it was just right. 

my brain on a sunday

just five weeks left of this semester! what! ahh! How did this happen? it goes by faster and faster each year. One more semester of classes and then time to student teach. ohhh boy.

this means, five weeks to... 

1. finish a course plan

2. make a felted book

3. finish the panty-hose weaving

4. start and finish the balloon weaving

5. embroider the screen printed fabric

6. make a clutch out of the screen printed fabric

7. write a paper on screens 

8. give a presentation on screens

9. write a fAS Unit with RAW MEAT

10. enjoy the last five weeks of school with my friends!
